Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 3, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Germanistisches Institut), Veranstaltung: Proseminar "Goethe", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit im Rahmen des Goethe-Proseminars im Sommersemester 2008 befasst sich mit der Novelle Die wunderlichen Schulkinder in Goethes Roman Die Wahlverwandtschaften aus dem Jahr 1805.
Neben einer kurzen Darstellung der Struktur und des Inhalts der Novelle, welche sich im zehnten Kapitel des zweiten Teils befindet, soll zunächst geklärt werden, inwiefern es sich hierbei um eine mise en abyme handelt, und wie diese im Bezug zum Haupttext steht. Es soll ferner überprüft werden, inwiefern sie mit dem Roman als solchem, seiner Handlung, interagiert.
Im weiteren Verlauf wird primär darauf hin gearbeitet, zu entschlüsseln, inwiefern Goethe dem Leser mit der Novelle eine Interpretationshilfe an die Hand geben will. Insbesondere soll gezeigt werden, dass gerade durch die von anderen Literaturwissenschaftlern wie Benjamin oder Wiethäuser oftmals als Antithese dargestellte Novelle, die Hauptfiguren in den Wahlverwandtschaften noch wesentlich genauer charakterisiert werden und außerdem bestimmte Thematiken, wie die der Ehe oder des freien Willens umgedeutet oder erweitert werden können.
