Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Pflegewissenschaften, Note: 1,7, Hochschule Bremen, Veranstaltung: Einführung in die Pflegewissenschaft, 17 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Hausarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Professionalisierung der Pflege in Deutschland. Die Pflegeberufe bilden in Deutschland den größten Anteil der Berufe im Gesundheitswesen. So betrug z.B. im Jahr 2000 der Anteil der Pflege an der Gesamtzahl der Beschäftigten in deutschen Krankenhäusern 41%, lediglich 12% entfielen auf den ärztlichen Dienst (vgl. DKG 2002, S. 38). Geprägt durch die naturwissenschaftliche Revolution und die daraus resultierende Dominanz der männlichen Medizin im 19. Jahrhundert wurde die Pflege zunächst als weiblicher Beruf konzipiert, der vorbehaltlos der Medizin zu dienen hatte. Seitdem führt die Pflege ein „Schattendasein“ hinter der Medizin. Als direkt Betroffene ist unser Interesse an diesem Thema sehr groß, was letztlich den Hauptgrund für diese Hausarbeit darstellt. Im ersten Kapitel werden die Begriffe „Beruf“, „Profession“ und „Professionalisierung“ näher definiert und voneinander abgegrenzt. Des Weiteren wird kurz auf die für die Professionalisierung relevanten Bereiche Pflegewissenschaft und Pflegeforschung eingegangen.

Im zweiten Kapitel wird die Entwicklung des Pflegeberufes im geschichtlichen Kontext beschrieben. Ferner werden der aktuelle Problemstatus des Pflegeberufes am Beispiel Krankenpflege im Krankenhaus skizziert und Perspektiven beschrieben. Das dritte Kapitel verdeutlicht den Nutzen und die Notwendigkeit einer Professionalisierung der Pflege in beruflicher und gesellschaftlicher Hinsicht, wobei sich der berufliche Aspekt auf den direkten Nutzen für die Berufsgruppen konzentriert. Unter dem gesellschaftlichen Aspekt hinsichtlich des Nutzens werden die Umstände in der stationären Altenpflege näher erläutert. Im vierten Kapitel wird das handlungsorientierte Professionalisierungsverständnis näher beleuchtet, wobei nicht das Attribut die Profession ausmacht, vielmehr ist hier die Rede von einer situativ abhängigen Anwendung wissenschaftlich fundierter Erkenntnisse. Des Weiteren werden die konstitutiven Kompetenzen systematisch aufgesplittet in drei Untergruppen, die als Begründungs- und Handlungskompetenzen im Zuge ständig steigender Begründungszwänge gefordert werden. Abschließend möchten wir noch erwähnen, dass wir unter Pflegeberuf nicht ausschließlich die Krankenpflege, sondern auch die Kinderkranken- und Altenpflege verstehen. Trotz der vorhandenen Unterschiede, die sich u.a. in separaten Ausbildungen manifestieren, sind wir von der „gemeinsamen Pflege“ überzeugt...
