Die Techniker Kasse hatte rund 1000 Patienten repräsentativ befragen lassen.
Es ging ausschließlich um die Zufriedenheit bei der ambulanten Behandlung.
Zu wenig Aufklärung über die Nebenwirkungen von Medikamenten bemängel-ten fast 40 Prozent.
"Nicht immer treffen sich Arzt und Patient auf gleicher Augenhöhe", sagte der Chef der Techniker Kasse, Norbert Klusen.“ (Quadbeck 2010)

Der Fokus dieser Arbeit liegt auf dem Verhältnis von Arzt und Patient im deutschen Gesundheitswesen bzw. auf den Veränderungen, welche sich in dieser Beziehung in den letzten Jahren ereignet haben.
Diese Analyse konzentriert sich allein auf die „Mikroebene“ der Patientenbeteiligung; d.h. auf die konkrete Interaktion von Arzt und Patient.
Institutionelle Faktoren bzw. in diesem Kontext stattgefundene Veränderungen werden hingegen nicht untersucht.

Im Rahmen der dargestellten Analyse wird insbesondere auf das Handlungsmodell der Partizipativen Entscheidungsfindung (PEF) als mögliche „Zukunft“ des Arzt-Patienten-Verhältnisses eingegangen. An dieses wird die Erwartung gerichtet, zu höherer Thera-pietreue, verbesserten Behandlungseffekten und somit zu höherer Zufriedenheit sowohl auf Patienten- als auch auf Ärzteseite beizutragen.
