A careful survey of the literature in all languages by a panel of scientists specially appointed for the task by the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences, Moscow, has made the compilation of this work possible.
The complete English edition in five separately bound volumes will be published during 1963. Volume 1, parts 1 and 2, comprises the solubilities of elements, inorganic compounds, metallo-organic and organic compounds in binary systems. Volume II, parts 1, 2 and 3, comprises the solubilities in ternary and multi-component systems. The systematic arrangement of the compounds and the solvents together with the distinct and separate-binary, ternary, and multicomponent systems-ensures that the information required may be easily located.
