In dieser schreiben fast zwei Drittel der Unternehmen der Personalentwicklung einen hohen bis sehr hohen Stellenwert zu, nur 6,2% einen niedrigen bis sehr niedrigen. Es gibt zahlreiche selbständige Personalentwickler, aber was kann ein Unternehmen selbst im Zusammenhang mit Personalentwicklung leisten und vor allem wie?
Dazu wird im zweiten Kapitel die Personalentwicklung und wie sie in die Unternehmenspraxis eingebettet ist erklärt. Da es sich um die Grundlagen der Personalentwicklung handelt, werden einige Definitionen verglichen und anschließend die Handlungsfelder erläutert. Ziele die durch die Personalentwicklung erreicht werden können sind im Kapitel 2.4 genannt. Der zweite Hauptpunkt der Arbeit besteht darin die Personalentwicklung aus der psychologischen Perspektive zu betrachten. Nach dem dritten Kapitel folgt noch die Diskussion und Verarbeitung von Ergebnissen einer Studie zu den Auswirkungen von Interventionsprogrammen auf die Arbeitsproduktivität.
