Sardische Sprache, Literatur, Landeskunde, Note: 1,3, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, 12 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Paveses Mythos ist nicht, zumindest nicht im wissenschaftstheoretischen Sinne, als Theorie zu verstehen bzw. zu behandeln. Einerseits fehlen klare Strukturen, die das Aufstellen von Thesen und Begrifflichkeiten ermöglichen, andererseits zeichnet sich dieses komplexe Konzept eben auch durch eine gewisse Nichtgreifbarkeit des pavesianischen Standpunktes aus. Der Prozess der Entdeckung und Enthüllung des Mythos, Paveses Bemühen „Ordnung und Planung dorthin zu bringen, wo das Chaos herrscht“ (Calvino 1962: 29), ist von dem Dualismus zwischen Eintauchen in das irrationale und ungewisse Dunkel mythischen Erlebens und dem nüchternen Willen zur Aufklärung gezeichnet. Umso diffiziler erscheint das Vorhaben, Klarheit und Struktur in die Überlegungen und Konzepte zu bringen, zumal Pavese auch nicht als Wissenschaftler und Theoretiker, sondern als Dichter gelesen wird.
Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, auf Basis der thematisch relevanten Texte aus Feria d’agosto und verschiedener Manuskripte, den Mythos in Paveses Werk an Hand verschiedener Motive, Themen und Begriffe zu erklären; der zentrale Text ist dabei Del mito, del simbolo e d’altro (Pavese 2006a). Weiterhin soll die Betrachtung zweier fremder Analysen einerseits zum Verständnis der zuvor behandelten Passagen dienen, andererseits jedoch auch exemplarisch die möglichen kritischen Zugänge dokumentieren. Abschließend kommt Pavese selber noch einmal zu Wort und äußert sich zum literaturkritischen Verständnis seiner Arbeit.
