Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Komparatistik, Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, Note: 3, Fachhochschule Köln, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Abhandlungen zum Motiv Bibliothek in der Literatur beschäftigen sich kaum mit dem Motiv speziell in der Gattung Lyrik.
Der vorliegenden Arbeit liegt die Motivation zugrunde, ausgewählte Gedichte darauf zu untersuchen, ob sie den allgemeinen Tendenzen der literarischen Beschreibung des Motivs Bibliothek in der Literatur im Kontext ihrer Zeit entsprechen.
Die Definition für die verschiedenen Varianten des Motivs Bibliothek in der Literatur liefern hierbei die diesbezüglichen Thesen von K. Dickhaut, D. Rieger und
C. Schmelz-Schneider.

Um der Fragestellung nachzugehen, werden die ausgewählten Gedichte in einen bibliothekarisch-historischen Kontext gestellt. Es werden Gedichte aus dem Humanismus, der Restauration sowie aus dem 20. Jahrhundert und der Gegenwart untersucht.
Die zu untersuchenden Gedichte werden in Kapitell 4 – 6 je nach dem folgenden Muster dargestellt:
1. Bibliotheksgeschichtliche Aspekte – kurzer Abriss der Bibliotheksgeschichte der jeweiligen Epoche sowie Tätigkeiten und Merkmale von Bibliotheken und Bibliothekaren.
2. Tendenzen in der Beschreibung des Motivs Bibliothek in der Literatur – allgemeine Tendenzen in der Epoche bei der Beschreibung des Motivs Bibliothek in der Literatur.
3. Bibliotheken in der Lyrik – Analysen von Gedichten aus den jeweiligen Epochen.

Bei den Gedichtanalysen liegt der Fokus beim Inhalt der Gedichte, nicht in formalen Merkmalen wie dem Rhythmus oder Klang.
Den geographischen Schwerpunkt der Darstellungen bildet der deutschsprachige Raum.
