Unterrichtsentwurf aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Englisch - Pädagogik, Didaktik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 2, Studienseminar für Gymnasien in Offenbach, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Jahrgangsstufe 8 lernen die SuS verschiedene Regionen der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika kennen. Inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt der Unit 1 des Lehrwerks English G 2000 war Florida, in Unit 2 wurde Alaska behandelt. In den kommenden Units werden Virginia, New York, Nebraska und Kalifornien thematisiert. Um das landeskundliche Wissen der SuS zu erweitern habe ich für die heutige Stunde zwei weitere Staaten gewählt, die im Lehrwerk nicht behandelt werden (Texas und Hawaii). Daneben wird heute auch Kalifornien thematisiert, das zwar im Lehrwerk vorkommt, dort wird der Schwerpunkt aber eher auf Einzelschicksale gelegt. Die Hauptstadt der USA ist zwar kein Staat, da sie jedoch im Lehrwerk nicht behandelt wird, habe ich mich dazu entschlossen auch sie in der heutigen Stunde zu thematisieren. Als Hausaufgabe sollen die SuS einen weiteren US Staat wählen und vorstellen. Dies knüpft inhaltlich an die heutige Stunde und methodisch an Unit 2 an, da dort das Präsentieren von Kurzbeiträgen geübt wurde.
Für die heutige Stunde wurde die Sozialform der Gruppenarbeit gewählt. Einerseits können sich in GAphasen mehr SuS aktiv am Unterrichtsgeschehen beteiligen, sodass diese Arbeitsform sowohl den leistungsschwächeren als auch den stilleren SuS mehr Möglichkeiten als im Plenum bietet zu Wort zu kommen und zusätzlich die Sprechzeit der einzelnen SuS erhöht. Andererseits ist das Lernklima für einzelne SuS entspannter, da das Sprechen vor und in einer kleinen Gruppe leichter fällt.
