„Nee, Frau Kollwitz, daraus wird nichts“, erklärt Trude kopfschüttelnd. „Unser Hauswirt erlaubt das nie. Nicht mal auf dem letzten Hinterhof lässt er uns seilspringen.“
„Doch nicht auf dem engen Hof zwischen den Mülltonnen“, wehrt Frau Kollwitz ab. „Richtige Spielplätze mit Wippe und Sandkasten und Rasen und Bänken und Bäumen, in denen Vögel singen.“
„Vögel?“, fragt Trudchen. „Haben Sie schon mal eine Lerche gehört?“
Frau Kollwitz nickt.
„Hm ...“. meint Trude, „es gibt also Lerchen. Dann hat Gustav doch nicht gesponnen. Ich hab noch keine gehört und Georg und Paul auch nicht.“
„Ihr werdet bestimmt welche hören!“ Frau Kollwitz steht auf. „Wir müssen uns nur darum kümmern, etwas dafür tun, alle zusammen.“
„Ich muss jetzt nach Hause. Anni ist allein.“ Trude legt die karierte Wolldecke über die Stuhllehne.
An der Tür bleibt sie stehen, aber nicht, um zu fragen, wann sie wiederkommen soll. Etwas anderes bewegt sie. „Kann man auf so einem Spielplatz im Winter auch Schneemänner bauen?“
„Natürlich, und glitschen und rodeln.“ Frau Kollwitz sieht sich schon von den Kindern in eine zünftige Schneeballschlacht verwickelt.
„Und keiner jagt uns weg?“, fragt Trude misstrauisch.
„Keiner!“, behauptet Frau Kollwitz.
