Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Sachunterricht, Heimatkunde (Grundschulpädagogik), Note: 1, Universität Regensburg (Philosophische Fakultät - Grundschulpädagogik), Veranstaltung: Seminar: Sachunterricht, 11 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Laut der IBM-Jugendstudie des Jahres 1992 stufen 70% der befragten Jugendlichen in den alten und neuen Bundesländern "das Umweltproblem" als großes Problem ein, bei der Wertschätzung sozialer Bewegungen nehmen im Urteil der 14 - 25-jährigen "Umweltschützer, Friedensbewegung und Kernkraftgegner" die ersten Plätze ein (laut SHELL-Jugendstudie 1992). Es zeigt sich also, dass junge Menschen heute sich der Bedrohung der Umwelt bewusst sind und dem Schutz der Umwelt einen hohen Stellenwert einräumen.
Besagte Studien zeigen aber auch die Tendenz, dass zwischen den geäußerten Einstellungen und dem tatsächlichen Verhalten eine Diskrepanz vorliegt: Nur etwa 60% der Befragten würden aus Umweltschutzgründen die Zahl der Autofahrten einschränken. Bei zunehmenden Restriktionsgrad der Maßnahmen, z.B. einem weitgehenden Verzicht auf das Autofahren, stimmt nurmehr eine Minderheit zu. Und das 1992!
Angesichts dieser Tatsache zu Resignieren hieße nach BOLSCHO den Erziehungsauftrag der Schule aufgeben. Umwelterziehung ist - und das belegt eine von EULEFELD, BOLSCHO & SEYBOLD 1991 durchgeführte Erhebung der Praxis schulischer Umwelterziehung in Deutschland - in allen Schularten noch verbesserungswürdig. Wie diese aussehen kann, die über das weitverbreitete Umweltwissen und die umweltverantwortliche Einstellung auch zu einem umweltgerechten Handeln führt, soll im folgenden gezeigt werden.
